The Lover was written by Harold Pinter in the late sixties. It deals with ideas of phantasy and desire whilst exposing the fragility of relationships.

    Produced by Theatre Ono. Directed by Gary Sefton and Designed by Phil Engelheart. This production had the time constraints of the Edinburgh Fringe ten minute get in and out. The solution was to build lighting into the set itself. The show had a sold out Edinburgh run.

    Produced and Created by 30 Bird Productions. Richard was associate Designer with Anna Watson. This piece was site specific in an old warehouse space that was in the process of being converted into a luxury apartment in Whitechapel. The production was lit exclusively with domestic light sources.

    Produced by Central School of Speech and Drama's MA Musical Theatre. Directed by Gary Sefton and Designed by Peter Farley. The concept was that the performers were using the mecanics of a theatre to tell the story. Fly bars draped in cable became the trees and, flightcases became carriages.
